It’s been a heck of a week, friends. Bill went out of town for a school retreat the day after my car started losing its mind. I drove our truck on Wednesday to drop Bill off, then our neighbor Keri helped me get the car to the shop on Thursday. What we initially thought was just battery trouble turned out to be a problem with the idle motor as well, so we’re getting it repaired tomorrow, and then pursuing replacing it with a new (to us) car in the near future.
All of this happened, of course, during a few days of torrential downpour, combined with a Check Engine Light on in the truck. When Bueller and I went to pick Bill up from school yesterday, the truck then proceeded to not start for a half-hour, so Keri had to rescue us again.
Once our neighbor-in-shining-armor saved us, we hung out at her house while Bill decompressed from the emotionally-charged retreat. When we finally got to bed, Bill and I were exhausted, mentally and physically. It was a looooong week.
We went back up to school today, the truck started fine, and we took it to Jiffy Lube for an oil change that also turned into a serpentine belt and PCV valve replacement. A very nice employee with a personal code reader told us what the Check Engine Light was indicating, so the truck will need service in the near future as well. Boo.
While all of the vehicle fiascoes and long-distance-husband traumas were occurring, it was a really good week at work. I feel like I’m appreciated and valuable to the department, which is awesome, plus I love the work I’m doing with them.
The next week will probably prove to be a doozy with a crazy work schedule and car stuff, but Bill being home will be a huge, wonderful help. 🙂
And now, on to the outfits!
